
Guider Liaison to Council (GLC)
The Guider Liaison to Council position is locally established and is created to help to fill the communications gap left with the elimination of the Division Commissioner positions in Saskatoon Guiding.
The Guider Liaison to Council is a member of Area Council and as such attends all Area Council meetings. She relays questions, concerns, comments, or special requests to Area Council and provides a response to the person who submitted the information. While she will be contacted most often by District Commissioners, Unit Guiders may contact her directly if that seems appropriate, as in the case where there is no District Commissioner or designated Guider dealing with District matters.
The GLC also contacts District Commissioners after each Area Council Meeting, highlighting information of particular importance. This contact will be by email in most cases. Those receiving the information pass it along to the contact guiders in their districts as appropriate, asking them to pass it along to their fellow unit guiders so that all those needing the information get it.
